In the play A Streetcar Named Desire Marlon Brando’s portrayal of Stanley was very precise. He comes across as a blunt man with a superior attitude towards women. As he spoke to Blanche, he spoke about how women overvalue themselves and it seems as though complimenting women is overrated to him. Stanley’s character is also a womanizer as well as an abusive partner. He physically attacked Stella for something as insignificant as the radio playing while he played poker. His body language and words made it very clear as to what type of person Stanley is.
